Bill Montgomery
Director of Business Development – Lead Generation
Prior to joining Heartland Veterinary Partners, Bill was a member at the Chicago Board of Trade for over 10 years where he was a broker/trader in the agricultural commodities sector assisting farmers, livestock feeders, and merchandisers hedge risk through futures/options in the grain markets. After college Bill lived in Paris France, where he studied the French language at the Alliance Française Ile-de-France in the 6th arrondissement.

Kellie Blandon

Kellie’s veterinary career began in 2012 when she graduated from Vet Tech Institute with a degree in Veterinary Technology. After working as a vet tech for several years, she decided to explore the business side of veterinary medicine and graduated with her MBA from Lindenwood University in June 2019. Kellie has worked for both privately owned and corporate owned practices. She has performed many jobs inside the clinic setting, including Vet Tech, Receptionist, Pharmacy Tech, Office Manager, and Practice Manager. Kellie is passionate about veterinary medicine, and helping others succeed. Kellie and her husband Marcus live in Belleville, IL and share a home with their four cats, Hercules, Meka, Russell, and Greta, and their corgi mix, Amadeus.

Spencer Heck
Director of Business Development – Lead Generation
Spencer’s career in the veterinary industry began at Heartland in 2016. Prior to joining Heartland, Spencer was a recruiter for assisted living facilities. He’s also worked in the music industry as a social media manager for a local record label. He graduated from Northeastern Illinois University. His interests include playing guitar, biking, photography, jogging, live music, road trips, and record collecting.

Greg Wozniak
Director of Business Development
Throughout his career, Greg has held diverse roles in finance, accounting, and corporate development. Before joining Heartland Veterinary Partners, he worked at Audax Private Debt, a leading firm in the financial services industry specializing in private debt solutions for middle-market companies. Drawing on his background in finance and accounting, Greg entered the veterinary industry in a corporate development role, focusing on growth through mergers and acquisitions. He also has experience in financial planning and analysis, managing budgeting, forecasting, and capital investments for veterinary hospitals. Greg earned his degree from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Katie Patterson
VP of Integrations
Katie has over 20 years of operational experience as a multi-unit leader including 6 years of experience in the veterinary industry. Prior to joining Heartland Veterinary Partners, Katie led several teams with Banfield in AL, FL, MS, AR, and TN where she helped her teams gain in their leadership and management skills, increased operational and financial performance, and promoted several of her team members to new leadership positions. Katie is passionate about supporting veterinary professionals grow their careers. Katie has also worked in the physical therapy and retail industries. Katie and her husband Dave share their home in Birmingham, AL with their pets Maggie and Jake. Katie earned a BS in Education from California University of PA.

Jonathan Ho
VP of Business Development
Jonathan has over a decade of experience within investment banking and other finance capacities. Prior to joining Heartland Veterinary Partners, Jonathan was a Vice President within the healthcare investment banking group at KPMG Corporate Finance where he worked on various engagements ranging from mergers and acquisitions, minority and majority recapitalizations, and capital raises within the healthcare industry. Prior to KPMG Jonathan spent time as part of the valuation team at Duff & Phelps, as a trader at IMC Financial Markets, and began his career as an engineer. Jonathan earned his MBA from the Chicago Booth School of Business and earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering.

Chris Mercier
Chief Development Officer
Chris has more than 20 years of investment banking and corporate development experience, including leading the healthcare investment banking groups at both KPMG Corporate Finance and Duff & Phelps Securities. While at both firms, Chris represented a variety of post-acute and provider-based healthcare companies in mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, strategic reviews, and financial restructurings. Chris began his investment banking career at Harris Williams & Co., a middle-market investment bank, and also previously served as a Director of Corporate Development at Northwell Health, where he focused on the acquisition of primary care physician practices to support the health system’s growth strategy. Chris earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with BA degrees in Philosophy and English.

Alex Duke
VP, Business Development & Integrations

Maranda Haluska
Senior Director of Business Development
Maranda has nearly 18 years of veterinary industry experience. She has worked with multiple leading group veterinary hospital and support organizations in addition to executive roles with other veterinary service companies. Maranda previously led development and acquisition activities in the Midwest market for VetCor Professional Practices, a leading group veterinary hospital and support organization with over 175 hospital locations, and also worked for BluePearl Veterinary Partners, a specialty group veterinary hospital with over 50 hospital locations. Maranda has also held roles with PetCure Oncology, a provider of radiation oncology solutions to the veterinary market, and HUB International within HUB’s veterinary insurance programs division. Prior to these various executive roles, Maranda worked in two private companion animal veterinary hospitals building operational skillsets within the veterinary field. Maranda attended Purdue University and is actively involved with numerous veterinary industry associations including VetPartners and AAHA.

Alex Rife
Director of Business Development
Alex has been in the veterinary industry for 11 years. He started his career as a veterinary technician working in general practice and emergency medicine for seven years. Since then, he has been a sales representative for IDEXX, Midwest Veterinary Supply, and Covetrus. Alex graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BS in microbiology. He currently lives in Bedford, TX, with his dog Ranger.

Matt Evangelista
Senior Director of Business Development
Matt has been with Heartland since its inception in 2016. He has over 30 years of veterinary sales and management experience, Prior to joining Heartland Matt has led sales teams in the animal health industry for HJ Heinz, Del Monte Foods, and Royal Canin USA, a subsidiary of MARS and a leading manufacturer of prescription pet foods and was a senior executive for The Veterinary Purchasing Group (VPG), a network of more than 600 veterinary hospitals focused on improving profitability through negotiating corporate level savings initiatives and leveraging distribution relationships. Matt has a BS in Marketing from Illinois State University and an MS in Management from National Louis University. Matt and his wife Michele reside in the Chicago suburbs with their two sons, Luke and Andrew, and their black lab, Pearl.

Amanda Reneer
Director of Business Development
Amanda has over 12 years of clinical, educational, and sales experience in the veterinary industry. Prior to joining Heartland Veterinary Partners, she spent 8 years in a private mixed animal practice as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT). Five of those years were spent as an instructor in a Veterinary Technology (AAS) program. She then went on to work in veterinary sales for over three years at one of the world’s largest animal health companies in the industry. Amanda graduated from Purdue University (West Lafayette) with her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. She currently resides just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and their Miniature American Shepherd, Walker Texas Ranger.
